Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance for therapy?
Yes, I accept insurance. You can read more about using your insurance to pay for therapy at the Rates page.
Are you going to tell me I need medication?
While I believe medication can be a tool for easing feelings that make it difficult to get through your day, it’s just one piece of the puzzle. Medication is not for everyone. Maybe you’ve been prescribed something in the past and it made you feel like a zombie. Maybe it didn’t help in the way you needed. I am not a medical doctor, so I don’t prescribe or manage medication. I will work with you to develop coping skills and ways of thinking that can help you feel more in control of your mood and your life. If you are already taking medication for your mental health or decide to do so, I’m happy to coordinate care with your prescribing doctor if that would be helpful for you.
Do you work with children or offer couples counseling?
I provide individual therapy to adults 18 years-old and up and do not offer couples counseling.
Do you offer in-person, face-to-face sessions?
I offer video/telehealth therapy sessions only using a secure, HIPAA-compliant service. Online therapy can be a convenient way to meet when you have a busy schedule.
